Welcome We, Paul and Ellen Wagenaar, welcome you to our organic dairy cattle farm in the village Wijdenes. Directly located along the historical West Frisian Omringdijk/Dike (126 KM long) near the Marker Lake, which used to be the Zuiderzee/Sea, we offer you an unique holiday destination.
Camping Site On our camping site we have enough space for you to put your caravan, camper or tent. The camping site is divided in three pieces. Two fields are lying on the front along the dike. Here you have a view of our horses and you can see the sails of the ships above the dike. The third field lies next to the farm. You can walk immediately to the cows. You can also find here a little playground and the trampoline. The toilet facilities are on a central place. In the toilet building you can take a warm shower without coin system. There are enough toilets and there is a family room with toilet facilities. You can use a refrigerator and a wash machine.
Enjoyment There is a lot to do on our farm! We invite you to take part in the farmers life. It’s amusing and informative. Further there are go-karts, little play tractors, trampoline, table football , table tennis, a swing and a slide. The children can also play in the straw or in the sand heap. There are horses and ponies for riding. You can swim in the Marker lake. There is a little beach across the road from the camping site. It’s a lovely place with clean swimming water.
Holiday cottage You can stay in our comfortable holiday cottage for 5 till 6 persons. The house is fully equipped with all conveniences: living room with a complete kitchen, television, two bedrooms, a bathroom with shower, toilet and a washbasin and a terrace.
Nature and recreation This area has a lot of water, dikes, polders (reclaimed land), nature reserves, bulb fields, green pastures with cows and sheep and small picturesque villages. In the spring the polders exhibit a mass of vibrant color due to the huge numbers of flower bulbs cultivated there. It is a perfect setting for hiking, sailing and cycling trips. It is also a destination for a long or short stay. Historical citys like Hoorn, Enkhuizen and Medemblik are worth a visit . Monumental facades tell of the history of these former Dutch East India Company towns. A little bit further you can visit: Amsterdam, Alkmaar, Volendam, Marken , de Zaanse Schans, the North Sea Coast….there is plenty of choice. For those who love the water sport then the location to the Marker lake has a lot to offer. In the picturesque village Schellinkhout, near Wijdenes, there is a perfect place for windsurfing and kitesurfing.
